Cycling Home from Siberia

Today we were treated to a visit from Rob Lilwall who has been travelling home from Siberia to London by bike and boat. Rob spoke to us today about his travels, showing us small glimpses of the world through a series of photographs between Siberia and our classroom. Throughout Rob's presentation, accompanying the photographs were a number of quotes. Rob explained how he found them particularly significant to his life and his journey, and he encouraged us to apply ourselves to our own life and to achieving our dreams.
Rob is a unique, amazing guy, and it was inspiring to listen to him talk and share his adventure. If this adventure wasn't amazing enough, Rob is also raising awareness and money for a global children's charity. For information on Rob's adventure or on the charity he is raising money for, check out his webpage.
I think that the opportunity we have had to listen to Rob and his story should not just dwindle away to the memory of 'remeber that guy who needed a haircut, riding all over the world, that was cool when he visited' - it should be more than that.
I would like you to comment to this post some ideas on how we (you, us, I) can do something more, something significant. Something that at the end of the year we can remember doing and that made a difference, and then Rob's visit will be rememebered as 'that guy on the bike who needed a haircut, he inspired us to....

Hi everyone...
Rob is a really inspiring person who has been going around the world trying to raise money for a good cause. He taught us to live up to our dreams and make sure we achieve them. Since he's inspired everyone of us why don't we do something like he has been doing?
Obviously we can't go around the world on a cycle but we still can organise an event which will help us to raise money. We could have a 10-15 km bicycle marathon from which we can raise money for our charities in Port Moresby.
Hey everyone, I think we should all appreciate Rob because he has been raising money for charities by cycling around the world.
It is also an experience for him to travel around the world.
when rob returns to England I think he would be a much better Geography teacher
Hi all.
Im glad I got to meet Rob, it will be something that the whole class will remember for a long time. How many peaople can say: "yes, I have met an interesting and inspiring person that has rode through many countries on just a bicycle to raise money for street kids!"
kk Thats all... bibi
Rob's speech was great and his DVD was excellent, especially the different music on the DVD.
I do think he is a bit crazy riding around the world.I think that if I was too do this sort of thing I would go by motor bike or car, but the reson he is riding and rasing money for the VIVA networks is great (viva network is raises money for street kids).I suppose his way is cheap but is it in the long run because he is away from home longer.
Anyway, what a couragous person and I wish him loads of succees and loads of money raising.
OOPS!
That last comment was from me.
Hey everyone,
After hearing Rob Lilwall when he visited and gave that speach,i
